About Us

Welcome to the Edmonton Construction Association

The Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) was incorporated in 1931. Today, it is the largest Non-Profit Construction Association in Western Canada.

The ECA exists to advance the construction industry by providing representation and service to our 800+ member firms. We are a member-driven organization founded on integrity, leadership, quality, and value.

The Rewards of Membership

Our members fall into 4 categories:

  • General Contractors
  • Trade Contractors
  • Manufacturers & Suppliers
  • Associate Members (including Architects, Engineers, and other services).

ECA members are represented provincially by the Alberta Construction Association (ACA) and federally by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA).

The ECA is committed to providing unparalleled value to our members. We are proud to serve our members through our Four Pillars:

Our History

Established in 1931 as the "Edmonton Builders Exchange," the Edmonton Construction Association has grown from that initial group of 43 firms into the largest local construction association in Western Canada.

Though much has changed over the past eight decades, the ECA continues to be a Members-First organization, focused on procurement, collaboration, networking, education, and positive leadership.
